The Oath # 46

I was possessed by the demon of civilization! I bought the props at its output, but in January it has literally eaten all my spare time To my great shame. This is a rare video game that still hang on, scratch that comes my little perfectionist side (until the neighboring empire decides to attack).

So no miniatures painted, bought, played or filed in January. February should be a little better. Dark Age 3rd edition may be released for real and there is a playtest group for Helldorado (as Cypher), which is organized. I would like to participate. I must admit that the playtest for Alkemy did not last long before the bankruptcy of the company.

Going back to civilization once and for all, I really like the look more tactical battles of the 5th edition. Belle simplification also do not have to leave trainer units in cities just in case. The fact that the morale of the empire is essential to its expansion is also a great addition that will stop the phenomenon more cities = victory.

For cons, I like less the management culture. I found it very interesting that the border can fluctuate from one empire to another, depending on its power of attraction. Now, except for the rare Great Artists, borders are fixed once acquired (by cultural expansion or vulgar purchase). I regret also the disappearance of the types of government procurement system for small bonuses. I always liked having to balance the positives and negatives of a system. Here, there are only a bonus to get, as long as the nation produces culture required to pay them. There are probably scholarly studies showing it causes more endorphins in the players or something like that if only the positive, but ... without comment.

I'm on the edge of my tan, and then Malifaux Helldorado should return shortly.
